Today's speaker was Stu Lucker, our new President, to provide a State of Rotary overview.  He has been working alongside Larry for part of the last year, so is not unfamiliar with the role he has just assumed.  In general, Stu is very pleased with the direction the Club is heading – including district-high new membership over the past year – and would like to continue on the same path.  He will maintain the practice of presenting yellow ribbons (as attachments to name tags) for members who bring guests, and green ribbons for those who recruit new members.  Each Rotarian is challenged to bring at least three guests during the year, and to recruit one new member.  He would also like to see some of the longer-term guests get off of the New Member list by completing their remaining tasks.  Deb and John are heading up efforts with RotoAct and InterAct, which are Rotary groups for college students and high school students, respectively.  Finally, he plans to apply for an A. Z. Baker Award for our Club, and believes we are well-qualified to win it.
