Today's speaker was Amie Longstaff from Junie Balloonie.  She told the incredible and moving story of how her company came to be - inspired by her father's saying "You only have one life," Amie set out to follow her passions a few years ago.  She has always loved children's stories and being creative, and so with perseverance and a lot of self-teaching, she has been able to self-publish two children's books, Junie Balloonie and Monster Motts.  She also designs, makes and sells Blooms, which are versatile flowers that can be worn in the hair, used to decorate cakes, or worn as brooches.  They are each hand made through a detailed and time-consuming process, and Amie is still working to reduce the time it takes to make each one.  She has experienced a good deal of 'buzz' around them, though, and hopes to increase their visibility and sales even more.  There is more information and also links to her work on her website: www.junieballoonie.com
