Lots of fun was had at the fundraiser on April 20, 2024. Some celebrities even showed up.

The table for the dessert run. Great treats for all the fundraisers!

It looks like Sandy joined Riz and Kenickie at the event! Wait...is that Danny or The Fonz selling wristbands? Joining him at the table are a Greaser and a Pink Lady selling raffle tickets.

Painesville Rotary 4 Way Speech Contest was held on March 5, 2024. Three schools were represented with honor, Fairport Harbor, Perry, and Riverside. This week's speaker was Ron Dustman, from Eastlake's Boulevard of 500 Flags Cruise In. He has been planning and organizing the car cruise ins since 2003.  The cruise-in is every Thursday starting May 2nd this year. Cars begin cruising in about 4:00, they have a DJ or band to entertain and about 100-150 cars to walk around and look at. This is a free event every week for both the cruisers and those coming to see the boulevard and cars.

The Boulevard of 500 flags was established in 1995 when a group of people from Eastlake thought that they should honor our local veterans all year, not just on Veterans Day, Memorial Day, and Independence Day. There is also a memorial to 9/11, "America Remembers Memorial" which honors all three sites affected by the tragic events of 9/11. The pentagon shaped memorial represents the Pentagon, there are 2 pillars which represent the twin towers of the World Trade Center, and the grass in the center represents the earth from the Shanksville, PA site. There are a couple other memorials in honor of the dogs of war and an eternal flame from the 1996 Olympic games torch that traveled through the area on it's way to Atlanta.

If you haven't seen the Boulevard of 500 Flags, please visit, make it a Thursday if you'd like to see some classic cars. It's an easy trip there, take Route 90 to Route 91 and head north to Lakeshore Boulevard, turn right and it is just to the right.

Ron Dustman, visit his website to see his photos of classic cars, http://dustmanart.smugmug.com

Next week our speaker is Dawn Fleming-Kendall, from Global Connections Academy.
